Summer School 2019 - 2nd edition (Turin, Museo Egizio, 2nd September to 9th September 2019).
The Department of Civiltà e Forme del Sapere at the University of Pisa and the Museo Egizio in Turin are pleased to announce the programme for the Second Edition of the international Summer School 2019, “Egyptologists as Museum Curators: an immersive training”.
All classes will take place inside the Museo Egizio, from 2nd September to 9th September 2019.
The main objective of the School is to provide a theoretical and practical approach to ancient Egyptian objects as part of a collection. The school will offer the unique opportunity to tackle Egyptian objects from all these different angles, from theoretical to more pragmatic perspectives, exposing participants to a variety of museum practices thanks to an immersive experience in a museum environment.
The final aim of the Summer School is to provide all participants with a foundation for starting more specific programmes of curatorial work in museums.
The course is open to EU and non-EU applicants (students and non-students).
Participants are expected to have a basic knowledge of Egyptology.
All courses will be taught in English by leading experts of the University of Pisa and the Museo Egizio in Turin. No knowledge of Italian is required.
